Zoom meeting please register you timezone
Nov 5th, 2020 at 7:24pm

So I'm pacing through my house trying to work up the motivation to gather all my sling stuff and begin the prep work (which I'm decidedly NOT fond of lol) and it occurs to me ya know... we live in a post covid world... there's nothing at all keeping us from doing zoom meetings is there?  That's right gentlemen. A zoom meeting. I'm throwing the gauntlet down here. Anyone interested? Probably best if we have more than two lol. If not just know I will still love you all even if I give you the stink eye here from Texas.

...

Just so we are clear on the severity of a good stink eye. Make your choice MEN.

Zoom, eh?  Ok. Why not. Of course you were probably hoping to rope in someone who lives more than 3 hours away from you. You don’t really need Zoom to give a fellow Texan the stink eye.

The fact that this hasn't occurred to any of us before now is a serious oversight. I'm in Cheesy Finland should be far enough away. Of course one problem is we're going to start running into timezone issues but we can cross that bridge when we burn it.

Damn right sir!! I would love to chat with some fellow Slorgies. And see your different projects and stuff. As for bridges I’m pretty sure Ive got them all but if I missed one we could definitely burn it too. Some Ive burned even twice which I didn’t know was possible.

NOOC- Well yes, we are relatively close if you don’t take my laziness and your busyness into account. Also I’m reasonably sure with your profession that at least one of your children is a mandroid. Which terrifies me. But yes we should definitely get together some time and throw some rocks. I would love to actually have a fellow slinger to sling with even if just for a day.

I’ll wait a week and see if anyone else is interested. I would love to get a nice group together to tell stories and chat.

It would be nice to chat real-time with a few that share my favorite hobby.

Yeah time zone is the thing to think about.
They do one on my bbq forum, but it’s 5pm pacific time (I know I know, Americans have never worked out that there are other countries in the world and we all use a standard time measurement Smiley

Which works out to about 10pm my time. Or dinner time.
It’s when my medication wears off and I start feeling like eating again.

So we’ll either need it early afternoon for the yanks, either puts Mersa in the middle of the night or their middle of the morning, or late night for the yanks.
I lose track on the antipodes. I believe they’re 9 hours ahead of the uk, or 11.
Quite what’s that equates to in us time - will take some working out Smiley

Let’s face it - it’s you awkward buggers in North America with your 3 time zones that bugger things up.

We British invented time so if we could all work with GMT as the base point - it would make it easier to work outwhistle

Let’s list our time zones and we can go from there.

I’m at GMT: 0

Never done a zoom - But I have sorted it out for a few clients recently. And my new-to-me(old one my mate gave me) iPad Pro is a decent size for it.

I’m not an apple fan and for the  800 odd quid he originally paid for it, it was massively over priced. But for a freebie with neat fold out keyboard cover  - great little piece of kit Smiley

I’ll go download zoom and have a play.

GMT -6 depending on daylight savings... but I also have an infant in the house... the fourth one in 6 years. Sleeping hours are a long lost concept, so my timezone is probably less relevant than most.

Working on figuring out a time I can do this. Good to hear others are interested. Be aware that in Houston all Zoom meetings are clothing optional. But I will try to have a strategically placed sock.

I would be interested if I'm available at the decided time.

I am also GMT -5.

GMT 0

But I will be unable to do anything this week. Also I have unlimited zoom so we won't be stuck with the 40 min limit.
