Wenger SAK repair???
Oct 19th, 2020 at 9:38pm

So I have broken my SAK but I can’t find anything online to help me repair it, it looks like everything is still there and should function but my knife locker no longer operates as it’s supposed to and the main blade opens past where it should, I thought there might be someone here who could help.

I believe it’s a Wenger s18 evogrip with knife locker. But this is just a guess from a quick search.

Any help is appreciated.
I feel like I may have bent something because it all appears to be functional otherwise.

You might have to pull it apart, and if possible from SAK purchase a new lock on it.

So I’ve got as far as thinking I’ve bent the floating spring, I have an idea on how I might bend it back but I’m not sure it will work

wenger NOT wegner.

I have a big beast of a wenger 'swiss army' knife - in reality victorinox make all the knives for the swiss army - but wenger make cheaper - but decent - equivalents.

Mine is ridiculous and has about 20 blades. Including a magnifying glass.

Sometimes with slip joint folding knives it just needs a really good clean.

Open all the blades and give it a good scrub in normal hot dish washing water.
Then dry it, then give it a good soak with something like 3-in-1 oil. And soak up the excess and grunge with paper towels.

If cleaning it doesn't work, I would contact the company before I started taking it apart.

It usually voids any warranty if you attempt to do any repairs, yourself.

And if the company tells you "Sorry 'bout that, go pound sand," then I would look into repairing it myself.

I think you are going to find that at one of the two rivet holes, it's going to be either bent or cracked.
