Things You Got Wrong When You Were Little

When I was tiny there were a few sayings and things that I misinterpreted. I thought that Saudi Arabia was salty Arabia.  I thought that maybe in that particular desert it was salty.  I did say I was tiny.  I thought the saying was "Rome wasn't built in the day" instead of "a day."  This I found odd.  Why would anyone want to build a city at night?  And there was "It's a dog eat dog world."  I thought they were saying "It's a doggie dog world."  Isn't that nice.  I like dogs.  I'm sure I'll think of more.
Are there any saying, quotes, or things that you misheard as a child?

This is somewhat related but for years, for some reason, I thought "approximately" meant really really exact. Ya know, the complete opposite of what it means. I think I was 12 or something when I used it incorrectly and my parents gave me a funny look Cheesy I still have no idea how that happened.
