Hello from Spain
Nov 19th, 2018 at 7:45am

Hi everyone, I'm Samuel from León, northern Spain. I used tu play with slings when I was a kid and I rediscovered them not long ago. Now I'm totally obsessed with it, xD.
I've been reading the forum for a couple of months and decided to join it, so here I am, trying to learn, enjoy and spread the word (of the sling).

Hope to see you all around.

Cheers,

Sam

Welcome Samuel, any sling that works the way you want it to is a good one, and your slings look quite nice.

Hi Samuel.  Glad to have you here.  I was not too far from you a good while back.  When I was in college I did a study abroad in Valladolid.  It was just a couple classes so I was only there for 6 weeks.  But it was still a fun and very interesting time.

I also like your slings.  What is the material?  Are they sisal?

Yeah, Valladolid is not far from my city. Some historical and cultural places over there, but not the most beautiful landscape in world right??? LOL. What did you study there?

I'm glad you like the slings, I hope to improve and make more complex ones. And yes, they are simple braided sisal with split pouch. Easy to make and effective, but they worn out a bit too fast. I'l reinforce the next ones with some leather.

I was there to complete the language requirement for my major.  So I was taking Spanish classes.  Although that was almost 15 years ago so pretty much all of that knowledge has slipped away.

Welcome Samuel!  The annoying and out-of-date way the forum handles pictures is just part of its charm Smiley

Welcome from the Western USA!  You will learn a lot here.  I looked everywhere for people who do this kind of thing and there are only small groups of them.  This is where the highest concentration of slingers seems to gather.  Lots of knowledge in here for sure.
