Up State South Carolina?  College?  That wouldn't happen to be Clemson, would it?

Ennyhoo, welcome to the site.

No, not Clemson. One of my professors got his Masters and PhD there, though.

Well, I made a paracord “noodle” sling this evening. I can post a picture later if anyone wants to inspect it. It slings baseballs pretty easily. However, I feel it to be a bit limited in the variety of ammunition it can handle. Hopefully I will have enough time on Tuesday to work on a woven pouch design and test it out it’s versatility.

By the way, for when I go looking for leather to make a pouch: Is it better to have stiff leather pouch or a more supple one?

I would say more supple but stiff ones can work as well if they have enough of a cup.

I pretty much only use more flexible leather. Mind you I've never seen any stiff leather for sale on the odd occasions i see leather for sale at all.

It's one reason I have so much - I mass buy whenever i see it Smiley

There's this arts center in my hometown in the UK that sells recycled stuff as art supplies. My mum is a Girl Guide leader and has a discount card through them so I made use of that about two years ago and I still have so much leather left. I added half a calf hide I found being sold by a woman who bound books as a hobby about a year ago so I have way more leather than I will ever need most probably Cheesy

Old joke courtesy of one of the members. He referred to simple slings as noodles, slingers as noodlers and suggested Jesus was a slinger, hence, Jesus was a noodler Cheesy Those slings look really damn good by the way.

Here is my first attempt at a leather sling. It is a two piece design. It was designed to successfully sling tennis balls

Ça marche!

It does both tennis balls and racquet balls with ease, without letting them fall out of the pouch. Much better than a flat pouch. Unfortunately the whipping I did is not holding together well, so I may need to look up how to do it properly.
