sling is like a club , a blunt weapon doesn't necessarily need penetration to kill.

I may have posted about this already but I now can't remember... Anyway, talking of using a plum bob as a meteor hammer, I got a pretty cheap one off eBay to use as a kusari fundo, the Japanese weapon which is basically a weight (or two weights on each end) of a short chain. It's quite an interesting weapon design and I was pretty easily able to DIY one. I didn't even think about using it in a sling but yeah that type of weight with the pointed end? Ouch.

Oh and if anyone is wondering how pointy that end is, with some sweeping strikes at just the right distance, I was able to cut cardboard. Not just smash holes but actually cut.

I can believe that !!!my plumb bob was sharp as until it poked a few holes in a car door.
Would be a deadly mentor hammer .
Scorpion off mortal combat.
Get over here
Can't find the tungsten bits to make timpas ammo

I'd probably go with what Bill suggested. The shape is aerodynamic and you can get them in any weight you want, from 1/16th to 8 oz. You can buy them online from Bass Pro Shops, Cabela's, Gander Mountain, or any other fishing supply store.

cheap, easy to use and make and I know a guy who makes moulds in any size and shape you like Smiley

I know americans who hunt have a tendency to ignore animal welfare. But bear in mind that you are far more likely to injure an animal than kill it outright.
So try and humanely dispatch anything you maim.

Hunting is NOT a game. Don't treat it like one.

That's a bit uncalled for.

I like to use lead bank sinkers. They are the perfect shape for throwing and can punch a hole through a washing machine, so they should have no problem taking down a rabbit or even a coyote.

Redgalvin he's just giving an opinion. Most people not famaliar with the hunting community here in America probably have a similar opinion. The hunting porn on TV doesn't help much to dissuade that kind of thinking.

I know a lot of hunters and I've not met one that doesn't care about clean kills. Not saying they aren't out there but they aren't the majority by a long shot from my experience.

Just don't spend too much time making any hunting ammo.
Cause you are just going to miss and loose the ammo anyway!

Well, I hope you loose the ammo, otherwise you'll never hit anything.  However, losing ammo is probably not ideal.

Sorry, but it's a pet peeve of mine:  'Yea' isn't the word you want.  It's 'yeah'.  'Yea' is an anachronistic word you see in the King James bible. "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of Spellcheck, I shall fear no misspellings for thou art with me.  Thy dictionary and thy thesaurus, they comfort me.
