Good hits Joe!
Could always fill the balls with ice, which would certainly drive a nail in!
Will have to get around to the nail challenge myself.
Attempted the 10 feet step back challenge the other day with my 22" sling, and got to 120ft around the 45 minute mark where I just stopped. More practice is in order, as my 15" is still a lot more accurate even at that distance...

Thanks!

My concern with filling the hockey balls with water and freezing them is they might break.  I think the cold temperature would make the plastic more brittle, along with not allowing the ice to expand.  It might work though.  Might be worth doing one just to see what happens.

And good job on the 10 feet challenge.  The longer distances definitely start to get tiring when you get into that second half hour.  I need to give that another try.  I haven't done it again since my second video.

A simple pvc frame fillled with sand should be good enough to hold a backstop if you don’t want to dig holes.

I learned 9 years ago, PVC isn't always the best choice.

I have to say, though no doubt that was annoying, they were spectacular looking failures. That corner piece just exploded Cheesy I know C_A made a PVC target and used a specific type that is very tough and can survive even rocks but I now can't remember what type that was.

Nail challenge is hard, failed on my first attempt but was good to learn, definitely want a completely different set up and big rocks.

Tryed 3 different setups but wasn’t happy with any and filming wasn’t ideal. Got some clips of close calls and fails

Nice attempt!  This one is definitely tough.  I don't remember any challenge where all of us came back with a failure after the first attempt.

I found some rocks to try this again.  They're pretty random in size so that's going to add some difficulty, but hopefully they will work.  I haven't had a chance to paint them yet (don't want to lose them in the yard and hit them with the mower later), but should be able to before the end of the week.

You're definitely getting enough power to hammer a nail in. I think for my next attempt I'm going to go with the same set up but tie the board down so it doesn't move. I think that should stop the nail going too far. I don't have any days off for a while so who knows when I'll get it done but let's see.

Video upcoming. Not a full drive of the nail, but I was having trouble driving it with a hatchet. It's hard wood! And I think my nails were too long, 1 3/4"(44.5 mm) I consider this one completed.

Wow!  That looks great!  Our first completion (other than Jaegoor that is Smiley).

Looking forward to that video. Thumbs Up

I have my rocks all ready to go, so hopefully I'll have another attempt this weekend.

Here is my entry.

16 throws to hit it. I really got lucky. I tried about 50 throws after this and only came close a couple of times to hitting it.

That definitely counts. Great slinging! Really like the sling design as well. I really want to do this one. Hopefully I'll get the time soon.
