Greetings from Warsaw, Poland
Aug 1st, 2017 at 4:55pm

Hi,

I'm 58 years old and I have 6 children. I live in Warsaw, Poland. I'm a physicist but I make a living as a programmer.

Slinging has been my sport, pleasure and hobby for almost 40 years.

A few years ago, when my kids finally grew up we started to play dodgeball-like game using slings and ultra-light foam balls. We named this game "Slingers' Clash", shortly: S'Clash.

Because of the minimal weight of the ammunition used, we use non-standard triangular slings with three strings rather than two, as usual:

...

Such a design largely eliminates problems with excessive ball rotation, which effects in a significantly improved accuracy.

For some time now we have been trying to popularize our game in Poland and we are achieving some success.

We are still far from being the hit of the season but interest in the game is growing and I hope for the best.

Even the Warsaw city authorities decided to support us and gave us space and funds to organize publicly-opened training sessions.

Please take a look at http://slingersclash.org/videos.php, there are videos from the last training games with scouts and some family matches. Some example:

I hope the idea of such a game can be interesting to the slinging.org community.

S'Clasher

Really nice looking sling and an interesting design. Do you release two lengths or only the one and keep holding two? Also are two of the lengths connected? It's a bit hard to see in the photo and video. S'Clash does look fun! Just need to find myself some willing participants and something a bit lighter than tennis balls and rocks...

Thanks for the good word  Cheesy

I'll start new topic in 'Slinging as a Sport...' but tomorrow, it's late here and reality has it's demands, time to bed.

"are two of the lengths connected?"
Yes and this two are released, the ball is slipping between.
I have a slow motion film where it's well visible. I have to find it.

Hello from Alabama, that's in the southeastern US, above the Gulf.

That's an interesting design, how does it work with odd shaped projectiles?

Welcome from California!
That looks like fun! Maybe I'll convince my family to try it. Where did you get the sling from?

Are there any rules - just looks like people slinging at each other Smiley
Which is fun by itself, I use sockballs for this kind of teaching/game.
Safest thing I've yet come across.

Good stuff !

"We need this game marketed"

I do my best  but it's hard to believe how deeply unknown is slinging. At least in Poland.
Slinging as a Sport? Very few people (no one?) ever heard of such an idea.

Nobody said it would be easy. The S'Clasher never give up  Smiley

@Bill Skinner
"how does it work with odd shaped projectiles?"

As long as the projectile is well rounded, max diameter not greater than 70 mm and weighs less than 100g, no problem.

We sometimes used small potatoes, apples, etc. as cheap and easily available ammunition.
A little dangerous but not deadly. No "in-game" of course, just for training, for target practice. It is easier to learn to throw using small and heavy ammunition. Foam balls are a bit harder to master.

If the shape is really weird - better to use another design, but I do not know what.

What shape do you think?

"Where did you get the sling from?"

I make slings myself with the help of the family. Our design is quite refined but making a similar sling in your own is quite easy.
Triangular shape of any skin, 2m of paracord, 2m of twine and pair of handy hands... that's all   Cheesy

For those who do not like manual work, we have something to offer, too:

One can buy s'clash sling at the store at https://slingersclash.com, it's our shop.

ps.
To promote Clash, we recently decided to release "Lifetime Warranty" for each sling.
The promotion may end at any time, the "Lifetime Warranty" is potentially a heavy burden for us.

Man I really want to play. Sadly I'm in Finland and the only other slinger I know off the top of my head is in Finland is Timpa. No offence Timpa, but I've seen what he's capable of on his Youtube channel and going up against him would probably be suicide Cheesy

Welcome Sclasher. Love the idea. I agree we need it marketed, or at least more well known.
