I am new to slinging, but have been having fun with it for a month or two now. This Christmas our whole family got together, I have 7 siblings, and combined we have 31 children, so Christmas was quite energetic. Since it was nice, (Christmas day it got up to 60*F!) the children were outside a lot, and I for sure wanted to get some slinging time in. The first day I went out to sling, my next to oldest nephew wanted to try. The next day my niece wanted to try, and I ended up making her a sling to keep. Later we were slinging, and some more nieces got interested, so I made a few more slings, and so it continued. ( Fortunately I had just gotten a dozen tennis balls) In the end I introduced the slings to 10 of the grandchildren, and 3 took slings of their own home with them. My brother in-law also wanted to try it. (he does not like people telling him how to do things, especially those younger than him. he also likes to play mean tricks on people) I knew he wouldn't listen to anything I told him, so I didn't tell him anything. He wound up and got the sling going as fast as he could, then he tried to throw it with a huge arm motion in the opposite direction of his wind-up. The ball stayed in the pouch until the pouch was a few inches from the ground, then it dropped out and bounced all of 6 inches. It was pretty hilarious. We had a good laugh, and I gave him a few pointers, and after a few more tries he got a pretty good throw.
I wish I had some pictures, but my extended family is of a religion that looks down on photographs.
