Anyone ever tried making a carbon fiber sling?

It's a thought that popped up in my head last night. I could see carbon fiber make a really strong, tactical, expensive sling. Something out of this -

Now I don't know what carbon fiber feels like or if this is even a possible idea. Maybe anyone with experience could tell. I don't really have to time to experiment with it now. Maybe someone else around here?

I was always under the assumption that carbon fiber's exceptional tensile strength combined with it's lack of weight were it's strong points but it isn't a great performer against abrasion or lots of extreme flexing. So it really shined when matrixed in a solid resin as a reinforcement material.  The resin protects it from it's two major weaknesses.

You should try kevlar or its alternatives.
