Is this portion of the board practically dead

well... There haven't been any posts in over a month.
Most of the stuff proposed here has seemed to die out.

scattered individuals do not make for great team sports.

Plus everything goes in cycles. One of the reasons for having seperate sections of the forum is to - somewhat - try and stop the cycles.

Ie we don't have new people going on about sports every six months because they can see the section and easily read what's gone before.

Plus it's the quiet season.

Haha most of the members on the website go through cycles of activity and inactivity. Busy with other projects, working overtime, study or other hobbies usually keep me away from the forum.

But once an individual develops the slinging bug it typically lasts a lifetime. Whether it's a week, a few months or even many years members return when their interest in slinging is reignited.

Same thing happens with ideas about slinging as a sport. I think about promoting slinging as a sport from time to time, but I never come up with an action plan. It's a challenge...

Respect for those who are trying to get slinging the sport. But sports or competition is not my thing.

lightslinger hasn't been around for a while (checks - since august in fact).
This section was his baby.

We can but hope he's okay and just taking a break Thumbs Up

I'm so sorry everyone about the unexplained Hiatus.  Like Camo-Sling mentioned, I just got kinda sucked back into life full speed.  The work I was doing with slinging was largely facilited by the fact that I was working the graveyard shift at work and had lots of free time to throw at it.  Unfortunately, the nature of my job requires us to rotate shifts every 6 months.  I've just recently come back around to the swing shift which allows me some time again, but not quite as much as I had on Graves.
Anyway, I'm back for as long as I can possibly be and don't have any plans of going away entirely like I did before.
   I missed you guys!  Wink

I am a new Slinger. I have just come across this forum .it was just in time . today  tried a 60 inch sling for the first time ,i am 67 inches tall . I had no problem getting it moving  but it was a lost cause.  My 40 incher is just as good , more accurate ,and has more range. my favorite length so far is 31 inches with a thin linen cord.
