It's a long way away from me, but I'm really interested! Since there's a slinging Demo I think it deserves a sticky.

Massi - WTF? It's called a sling. You use it to throw rocks farther and faster than you could otherwise. That's all.

Is it just one day?  Is there camping?  How about flint knapping, archery or bowmaking?

I'm going to go (80% sure) and am +1.  Anybody organizing a slinging competition?  Seems an obvious thing to do.  I mean, we need, what, some kind of target (probably a plywood rabbit or something to go with the theme) and a chalk line on the ground?

Is any sling-person organizing anything?

This should b  a regional event. Up where I live there r plenty of parks that would allow this. I. NE PA.  Right up in the tri state area. There would b a lot of exposure for this.

I saw a flyer saying they were going to have a slinging competition on Sunday.

http://www.gskentuckiana.org/Events/Event-Details/ID/3988/begin/6-28-2014/Paleol...

So, who's going to come and test their mettle against my somewhat sub-awesome skills?

Just called the park.  The guy on the phone said that the Paleolympics had been canceled due to the organizer leaving for another job.
