Posts: 98 Novosibirsk region, Russia Gender:	Sling in "The Hobbit" film Apr 9^th, 2013 at 10:40am I just watched "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" film and saw sling in one scene. It seem it was not mentioned here... Style is standard Hollywood helicopter. Alas, no shot is shown (unlike other gnome's dwarf's slingshot).

It's right after that part where they are walking a really long way...

But seriously, I believe its right before they enter the troll cave where they find the old elvish blades. I could be wrong though.

And what I don't get, is why "the Hobbit" takes three movies when it's just two skinny, little books, but LOTR is three thick books and only warrants one DVD/movie per book?!?! Mick

Not even, it's just one book.

I finally figured out why I didn't like The Hobbit much. Almost all of the man-shaped beasties in LoTR were excellent costume and make-up jobs, in the The Hobbit, all the non-good guys were CG. All of them.
