The advantage of this technique is:
You can renew a page if it is worn.

The guide is intended to stimulate your imagination and experiment with different materials and shapes.

have fun with it

I like that a lot. The idea of having a separate release cord is very good. The continuous edge cords should make the pouch cup nicely under tension. Good work!  Cool

You make some of the most beautiful slings I've ever seen hubert. Is that linnen?

I think I'll have to make one of the looms. What are the dimensions of yours?

This guide will serve as a complement to existing guide mr Potter  http://www.seekyee.com/Slings/howtos/tut1.htm

I do not want to write so much and let the pictures speak for themselves.

This is really very good. Thank you.

Great work! The weaving looks very clear.
Two days ago I made a sling like this from sheep-wool and attached a one piece-leather release cord as I´ve seen it in an older thread showing the amdocraft slings. The idea to make a sling with a separate / exchangeable release cord is very practical, cause this is the part that has the shortest life span in a sling.

Allright, I've made the loom and I understand how the pouch is made.

Can someone help me out and explain exactly how the cords are attached?

C'mon girls! You can't figure out a way to attach your cords? We were all just given the key to the hardest part.  Cheesy
I've done three and each is uniquely different while all coming off hubert's loom illustration.  Grin

Yeah I know, shame.  Embarrassed

I'm thinking that the outer cirular weaves come around to the one side to be the retention cord, and the release cord strands are pulled through the outer weaves and then folded over to make the release cord.

True?  Huh

I am very glad that you like my slings and the guide.

@Dan: On the picture above is from the middle sling wool and linen, the other two are from hemp.

The size of the pouch, each maker to make his preferences.
The spacing of the steel pins are dependent on the used yarn. The board on the pictures, the pins have 0.6 cm distance.
The guide is being continued.I'm working on how to attach the cords.I find it very difficult to translate.

I made one last night and as I was making it I understood how to attach the cords.  Smiley

I have little weaving expierence and it still looks great, I'll post pics soon. I really like this design and now that I have a loom you'll probably see a lot of them.  Smiley

I made my loom bigger today so I can make larger sling pouches but, as you said, it can really be any size within reason.

To anyone that didn't undestand how the cords were attached: The retention cord strands are woven in a circle around the woven pouch. For each strand you weave through, you'll have 2 strands for the cord because its folded in half, so you'll only need a 1-4 cords woven around the outside.

The release cord is attached be pulling the strands through the eliptical woven release cord strands an then folded over like you would when you normally attach cords to a pouch.

Thanks hubert!
