PROMOTING ACHIEVEMENTS


“EXHORTER  1-4”

Requirements

Note: The numbers below are cumulative totals.  It is not required to speak with these amounts of people all at once.

Level 1:  Talk about Slinging in general to at least 5 people.  /  Give these 5 people direction on how to locate more information about www.Slinging.org

Level 2:  Talk about Slinging in general to at least 15 people.  /  Give 10 of these people direction on how to locate more information about www.Slinging.org

Level 3: Talk about Slinging in general to at least 35 people.  /  Give 25 of these people direction on how to locate more information about www.Slinging.org / Help 5 people register on www.slinging.org (make sure you can identify these to the Ranking and Merit System Moderator)

Level 4 (Master):  Talk about Slinging in general to at least 60 people.  /  Give 60 of these people direction on how to locate more information about www.Slinging.org / Help 10 people register on www.slinging.org (make sure you can identify these to the Ranking and Merit System Moderator)

“EXEMPLAR  1-4”

Definition of Terms

Non-Artist :  For the purposes of this Merit Award, a “Non-Artist” will be defined as a person not affiliated with any slinging or primitive weapons group.  Ideally speaking, a Non-Artist will also have little to no experience or knowledge about Slinging, but this is not strictly necessary.

Requirements

Level 1:  Be seen Slinging in a public place by at least 5 Non-Artists during your time in that place.

Level 2:  Be seen Slinging in a public place by at least 15 Non-Artists during your time in that place. / Involve at least 2 of these Non-Artists in the activity you are participating in.

Level 3:  Be seen Slinging in a public place by at least 35 Non-Artists during your time in that place. / Involve at least 6 of these Non-Artists in the activity you are participating in. / Post a video online featuring you performing some activity related to slinging.

Level 4 (Master):  Be seen Slinging in a public place by at least 80 Non-Artists during your time in that place. / Involve at least 15 of these Non-Artists in the activity you are participating in. / Post 3 videos online featuring you performing some activity related to slinging.

“TEACHER 1-4”

Definition of Terms

Non-Artist :  For the purposes of this Merit Award, a “Non-Artist” will be defined as a person not affiliated with any slinging or primitive weapons group.  Ideally speaking, a Non-Artist will also have little to no experience or knowledge about Slinging, but this is not strictly necessary.

Non-Formal Class:  For the purposes of this Merit Award, a “non-formal class” is a group of Non-Artists (three or more) that are gathered in an informal way to listen to you about your chosen subject for at least a short period of time (about 10 minutes or more)

Formal Class:  For the purposes of this Merit Award, a “Formal Class” is a group of Non-Artists or Artists (three or more) that have gathered at a specific time and place for the instruction.  Ideally speaking, a Formal Class should also last for at least 25 minutes.  

Topics:  Following is a list of good topics to teach that are related to slinging.  Note that this list is not exhaustive and a Teacher should not be restricted to only those topics listed here.  If you taught something not on this list, just identify the topic to the Ranking Moderator.

•      Military uses
•      Sling Characteristics
•      Sling Lore
•      Practical Application
•      Slings and the Law
•      Techniques
•      Slings and Safety
•      Crafting Methods and Practical Crafting Instruction
•      Ammunition Characteristics
•      Slings in World Culture
•      Current Events in Slinging
•      Sport Slinging      

Requirements

Level 1:  Give a Non-Formal Class that should include at least 2 of the listed subjects/topics.

Level 2:  Give 5 Non-Formal Classes that should include at least 2 of the listed subjects/topics each.

Level 3:  Give 2 Formal Classes that should include at least 3 or more of the listed subjects/topics.  /  Post a thread indicating what your class topics were and how it went.

Level 4 (Master):  Give 3 or more Formal Classes that should include at least 3 or more of the listed subjects/topics. / Post a thread indicating what your class topics were and how it went for each class.

“ACTIVIST  1-4 ”

Level 1:  Participate in a major public event that includes the promotion of Slinging.  

Level 2: Participate in two separate major public events that include the promotion of Slinging.

Level 3:  Assist in the Preparation of and participate in a major event that includes the promotion of Slinging. / Assist in the advertisement of the overall event (posting flyers, posting articles, etc).

Level 4 (Master):  Design, Prepare and Advertise a major public event that includes the promotion of Slinging.

“MASTER PROMOTER”

Requirement

Achieve Master level in two Promotion Merit Awards and Level 2 in one other.
