Great work! I'm honestly surprised that you got such good results with pure copper, the stuff oxidizes so much when molten. I've seen guys cast with it and can only offer one real useable tip that would help: When you load your crucible, fill as much of the empty space with charcoal as possible, it consumes all the oxygen, preventing it from reacting with the melt. Stirring won't help you so try not to do it. Dust your mold with more powdered charcoal, don't skim the melt but if you have a helper, have them use something to hold the dross back while you pour.
BTW, petrobond sand is wildly successful amongst aluminum and bronze casters and was a direct replacement for k-bond, it was created for foundrywork. I personally don't use it for various reasons, price being one of them. I make greensand which is fine sharp sand with up to 10 percent bentonite clay and just enough water to get the sand to stick to itself but not your hand. That's the same recipe hat has been used since the dawn of sand casting, and it's still used today in iron foundries.
