It's a slingshot variant, I believe. Fairly recent post, 2 months old or less.

Yep. The pivoting bit at the top is attached to a  spring in the handle; it pulls the band attachment point out of the path of the stone and pouch. basically a high tech stick-shot style of slingshot.

Slingshot with African frame... nice, and not even difficult to make... I'd try to build one but unfortunately I don't like slingshots that much! I prefer the good old Y-shaped piece of wood

Hi,

This is a "Sling Cat", the companie closed several yers ago. At this one, there is a spring missing between the arm and the bottom.
The Sling Cat is a single band slingshot. When you draw out the band, the arm comes up, when you shoot the steelball is high enough over your hand, the spring brings back the arm so you can´t hit the arm.

I use your index all the time, Mauro. I may try to make one of those- I'e had my doubts about a stickshot, but this looks doable.

Actually I spent the last 2 days thinking about an easy way to forge something like that handle, and I also figured out how I could do... but then I remembered that I don't like slingshots that much 
Boys when I was 10 I shoot at a jalousie (correct word? the wooden or plastic "shield" you have out of the windows) with the slingshot dad built me, and I pierced it! It was my first truly effective weapon 
I also bought my first reliable knife when I was 11, it was an Opinel and I still have it. That was my first panoplia, a knife and a slingshot.
And I also had a wonderful skateboard and a fast bicycle and we were playing Hugo! on a friend's console.
And we used to drink Coke and eat milkshakes between a football game and the other.
Boys these were times.
