And here's Sarosh's template in a printable PDF. I also included a 75% scale version because...well, no particular reason.

Out of the kindness of his heart nwmanitou has created a really nice and clean cap paul template.
Which I have attached to this post for your use Smiley

Hey folks! Can anybody post this PDF (nwmanitou-CapPaul.pdf) again, please? The file seems to be broken. I can download it but it won't open.

Thanks!

In the meantime, I made a PNG then a PDF that worked well enough for me. The length of the sling on paper should be 10" / 255mm at 300dpi

Would still be nice to have the very original PDF of this template, though!

Edit: An admin replied about this below! Is this attached image showing up at full size for everybody? If so, I'm sorry - can you tell me how to make it show up smaller? Either inline or just as an attachment! Thank you!

Sorry man, we can't keep that giant image attached.  The pixel size is way too big.  If you save the original image and open it for printing, you should have an option somewhere in the controls to change the scale.  And with that you should be able to make it as large or small as you want before sending it to the printer.  If you can't find a setting like that, let me know what operating system you have and I can help you out.  If you really need a PDF copy, I can make one.  But as mentioned, with modern printing you should be able to change the size on the page right from the controls.

I did take a look at that attached PDF.  I don't think we're going to get it back.  Everything I've tried just indicates it's corrupted.  I even ran it through a couple online PDF repair tools.  No luck.

I saw your edit.  Yeah, this old forum doesn't resize anything.  So if you attach a giant picture, it's going to be giant on the screen.  Grin

Okay, last update.  I created a new PDF and it's attached in the same place as the old one, so it's available again.  I think it should be the right size when printed but let me know if it's not.

Thank you, Joe! Sorry for the trouble. I haven't used a forum like this in a very long time.

I'll "print" out the large image I posted as a PDF and re-attach it to my reply. As far as I've seen, PDFs don't display, they are just linked to for download.

As for your replacement PDF - thanks for doing that. I'll let you know when I get a chance to print it out again! Reminds me of the part of the Wikipedia article on Slings that mentions that very few ancient slings have been found because of deterioration, etc. Looks like that applies to digital slings as well!

No problem at all buddy.  Essentially everyone on this forum has posted images that are too big at some point.  I wish there was an automatic resize function, but unfortunately not.

The forum has gone through updates on some occasions that resulted in lost data, but I don't what happened to that PDF.  I wonder if it ever worked and just no one ever clicked on it.  Grin

Posting an image that's way too big is a right of passage on the forum  Grin

I'm planning on laminating a couple of sheets of these to give me much more durable templates. But I usually print out on paper, cut round and use a pritt stick for temporary attachment to the leather.
With a more rigid laminated template I think I can just hold it to the leather and draw round with a pencil.

Not sure how relevant this is at this point, but I found laminating wasn’t necessary if I simply printed on slightly heavier, say, 200g paper instead of the standard 80g photocopier sheets.

The unlaminated paper is easier to cut precisely with an X-Acto knife while drawing round with a soft pencil on leather still works just fine this way.

Yep, good idea.  I usually just make a leather template for the designs I use regularly.  Which is only a few.  It does sacrifice a pouch cutout to act as a template instead of a pouch, but they're basically never going to wear out.
