There is a basket weaving place in Denver that I hope to check out soon. I am thinking of trying to use sea grass cord depending on the texture and thickness.

It's not a coconut palm, but raffia palm is a nice, sturdy fibre and is available at most craft stores and probably all gardening stores (it's used to graft trees and other plants).

I'd be willing to try with palm leaves if I could get my hands on some. I will look for raffia palm. There are several craft places and one basking weaving outlet not far that I'll try and get to this week. Thank you.
