Check out the how to's on Primitive Archer. Ot you can punch a hole in a piece of thick leather, make three or four cuts to line up with where your fletches go, put that on the arrow shaft, slide the tips of the fletches through, tie them, then slide the leather collar down, wrapping as you go, get to the end slide it off, tie off the wrapping, add a drop of glue at both ends and you are done. He doesn't use it anymore, he has gone to the Southeastern 2 Fletch. It uses whole, smaller feathers that don't require peeling or splitting. Bill

There is a video on YouTube, Southeastern Two Fletch, that is the only thing I could find. It isn't exactly how I was taught, if you know how to fletch with sinew, you can make it work, Noel showed me how to with gese feathers, you don't need to do near as much work as the guy did with the turkey tail feathers. Also, if you put your hide glue granules under your lip like a dip of snuff, you can use your tounge to apply your glue to the wrapping and the bottom of the fletch. He does have a neat trick when he lashes the front quill, I'll give that a try when I make my next batch. Bill

And if you don't have any preconcieved notions, it is a great tutorial, especially if you have never made primitive arrows. Although, I would use a pair of scissors for cutting. Bill

I agree wholeheartedly. There is no reason to buy an expensive one if you don't want to. I have had this one for the last 6 years and it works perfectly. Learning to fletch without a jig is a fun and worthwhile hobby IMHO as well. Sorry I don't have any plans for making one though.

If you are not locked into traditional fletch; you might try this provided your shafts are small enough at the nock and you have a fall away rest or whisker biscuit.
