Cool, I like Irish music and will pick up the tin whistle and Bodhran when the mood takes me.

Are you interested in Bataeireach at all? I read the lengthy and somewhat pedantic posting that occurred in the previous post mentioning Irish stick fighting...

I guess all I could add is to see my post 'Respect the stick', It would be good to revisit this topic in a constructive and positive way.

Agreed. The past thread became toxic. Let's leave it behind.

I'm only passing interested in stick fighting arts as swords are my thing. Bataireacht looks cool, but so does escrima, la canne, bartitsu, grand baton etc.

I fenced a bit as a youngster, foil and epee. I found that with walking stick methods like LaCanne Vigny and even  more so Cunningham's method, that the fencing principles migrated over very well.

If you are into the larger two handed choppers or other thins like that,  then you must take a look at purpleheart armoury's gear. They have very tough well made beaters made in all styles. both synthetic and wood.

True. I'm pretty familiar with the Darce's stuff. Well-made gear and they are a pleasure to deal with even from across the "pond". I've got one of their rattan cane singlesticks with the cuir bouille basket and a couple od beautiful white oak turned wooden clubs (2lbs) which are artworks by themselves.

Nice guitar work, a beautiful voice, and a good story, though a bit violent.  Thanks for sharing.

Considering the genre it isn't all that violent. Take a look at Matty Grove's Wife for comparison.

a super version by Fairport Convention

I've also heard a cracking version by Steeleye Span but couldn't find it just now.
