A while ago I got into slingshots, and through that (and a general interest in archaic weapons) I thought again about slinging.

I made my first sling almost twenty years ago, all one piece cut from leather with the wide bit worked into a pocket.  I had no technique, and so didn't use it much.  the pouch was only big enough for a one inch rock or bullet.  

In this new installment, I have made a couple of slings and have shot perhaps a dozen shots with them.  The first was after I saw the TIAT video, and done in nylon braid cord.  The pocket is a bit stiff and I made the whole thing a bit too short, but it was still fun to make.  The second is made from cotton twine, and braided from six strands according to a video I saw by HerefordLad(***) on youtube.  I had only enough string to make it about 18" long when finished, so it, too is not long enough.  Of the two it is notably the better, even though it has only the split braid instead of a pocket.

Lookin' fine ... Looks like both bullets went down range in the correct direction.
