For those of you who are unaware, Starz network is now airing a Scott Free (Ridley Scott) production of Pillars of the Earth, an adaptation of Ken Follett's novel of the same name. I mention this here as from my recollections of reading this novel, one of the main characters (Jack) is described using a sling often in his youth, and later, in defense of the town of Kingsbridge.
