S.I.T.H (sling in the hat)

Cheesy i'm announcing slinging.org's first random sling trade drawing, S.I.T.H (sling in the hat). this is a fun way to recieve and try slings made by others and pass off slings of your own. you submit your name which is then drawn at random and paired with someone else. you then make and send that person a sling. they in turn make and send a sling to whomever they have drawn, and so on. no two people will be sending to each other. i'm going to set the final date for name sign-up's on monday May 3rd and the completion/ship date for slings for monday June 7th. once your new sling arrives you'll post pics, tell who it's from and what you think of it.

we've done this over on paleoplanet with atlatls and it's a lot of fun. people really gave it their best effort and some very nice pieces were created and traded. what do you guys think? who's in? Wink

After the first round we keep drawing names and send off the sling we've previously received? I think this would be better as a stand alone thing, but I'm in either way! I've already got a sling nearly finished for slingingrat.

Massi - WTF? It's called a sling. You use it to throw rocks farther and faster than you could otherwise. That's all.

mmmm, i say we keep them seperate. we can have another after this one is complete, making sure nobody gets the name they did before, but getting and keeping the sling that somebody made you is part of the fun. besides, the idea is to make and send your own.

I'm new to making them, but I think I can enter.  I will make perhaps a jute partial solid partial split pouch, or a cotton or wool one.  May not be as fancy as some of yours but I'm told they look really nice.

Everyone knows that there will be all skill levels represented.  That's OK and part of the fun of it.  Don't worry if you're a new guy or don't have the best materials available.  Just make the best sling that you can.  I've traded slings with a good number of new guys here and I've never beed disappointed.

Sometimes new members put established members to shame, when Jaegoor joined he amazed me with his sling making skills. For the new members: You may be sending a sling to Peru or the UK or Australia. Just so ya know.
