With the Old Gunny, Lee Ermey.  Looks like a firearms-oriented item, 2 episodes airing tonight.

A good series for those interested in weapons and their history.   Ermey presents the history in a straightforward manner, talking about the improvements in technology that advanced each weapon system.
But it's not dry at all...Plenty of shooting and often the target is Ermey's trademark watermelons!

The second episode was on artillery, and they had some nice stuff on the care and feeding of muzzle-loading cannon, and a firing model of the 1800s breech-loading "one-pounder" that was the first to incorporate a recoil-absorbing system.

I've been watching it too... great show!  The Gunny certainly has enthusiasm, and he really makes the show interesting.  So far I've seen the Artillery, Tanks, Machine Guns, and Pistols episodes.

As far as I'm concerned, that man has the best job ever.  He gets to go plinking with everything--up to and including cannons--and he gets paid to do it.

Missed the "pistols" episode!   Oh well, they repeat 'em.

I highly recommend the pistols episode-- it is worth watching when you get the chance.

I especially found the wheel-lock pistol absolutely fascinating.

I find it nice. they had some good humor in the machine guns episode.

"Come on you sons of bitches! Do you want to live forever?"&&&&"A sword is a weapon. The art of swordsmanship is learning how to kill. That is the truth"&&&&"Dead!" I answered, and amiably "Murdered," the Hangman corrected me. "First the alien ... then the Jew. I did no more than you let me do."
