Start with a regular braided sling. ( http://slinging.org/index.php?page=making-a-braided-sling-an-illustrated-guide )
Then when you get to the pouch use adsi's tutorial. Does that help?

your right on the money there peaceful j

once you get to the pouch you only use three strands to braid the split then use the six strands left over to make the netting

i made one where you start with nine strings and the mesh is quite small ill get a pic of it when i can

i made the pouch a bit big on this and so anything smaller than a baseball will not even fly out as the pouch wraps round them when i sling it swallows up three quarters of a tennis ball

Single strand.  Started tying one loop, then added one loop in each row until 6 loops  in row.  To complete -  tied row of 6,  then reduced each row by one until one loop left.

The description is hidden in there, two net parts is held paralell and tied together with a simple overhand knot.
As simple as possible, but it works.

no, i mean, on most slings you first braid a length, then fold it in half then start braiding again. so if you used 9 strands, and folded it in half like before, then you would need to start with 4.5 strands. how is that possible?
