Interesting find?
Apr 16th, 2009 at 9:20am

Yesterday my friends and I were messing around with their dogs infront of one of my friend's neighbor's yard. All of the sudden his neighbor comes out with this tennisball thrower...basically a rock atlatl.

Seen here- http://www.gundogsupply.com/chuckit.html

Yeah, a friend of mine has one. I compared it to a sling staff and brought mine out. Loaded the tennis ball into it an WHHOOOM!
The dog liked it.

I know it is kind of like an atl atl staff sling collision but were there any historical weapons like this with an atl atl use that flung rocks?

Also there was a type of staff sling where the pouch was attached to the staff with a very short cord and had a long retention cord to the hand. The pouch was basically just a hand-released stone holder and didnt swing around, all the swinging was done by the staff.
