you want an obtuse angle, with a short side and a long side. the short side should be wickedly sharp and dangerous. the other side should be comfortable and smooth. you grip the long side and you sorta throw it. i'm not sure about the throwing but, i do know the construction of it...

i made one yesterday Smiley it was easy an took me less than 10 minutes, mainly because the branch already had the shape, i tested it just once yesterday an it flies "strong and true" i hitted the tree (wow what an acomplishment) from 30, to 40 yards, and the stick was lost in the foliage, (im not sure if "foliage" means leaves) i got it back a few minutes ago. heres a pic.
Pd. i dont know what wood it is, it is a branch taken from one of the trees in the backyard, but it is very strong and heavy, and kinda dificult to cut. i realized a rabbit stick could be a very good self defense weapon, you know, like a wooden sword-club

Looks pretty cool, is it carved flat like a blade or is it still a stick?

jaja im sorry, i tried to translate directly from spanish without consulting a dictionery.
when saying ergonomic i translated from ergonomico (duh!) it means it is made to fit perfectly over a part of human body, i think. this time it is made to fit a closed fist.

it is still a stick, it is neccesary to make it flat?, because that would drastically reduce  the weight of the stick and maybe increase it's air resistance

well yeah, but you got to make sure it's made from a rather light weight metal. if it was iron, you'd probably drop it, not to mention throwing it

...

For a non-returner, use the symmetrical one. For a returner you need one of the two above.

I has very low drag so you dont lose energy during the flight.

Yes it would reduce the weight - but it would DECREASE it's air resistance, so it wuld fly further and faster - so less weight would not be a problem.

thanks for clarifying what is an airfoil, its like the shape the airplane wings have, isnt it?

and i meant that if i made it flat it could turn in the air ( instead of cutting the air with the edge, expose the one of the flat sides to the air resistance)
that would cut its trayectory drastically.

i think i could carve an airfoil in it withouth any problem though. Smiley
