Super-excellent, Timann!

Up until now, I'd thought (apparently mistakenly!) that my "Peacefuljeffrey Slings" were good for one thing only--golf balls.  Now you've shown me otherwise, and that makes me extremely happy!  When I make one like yours, it'll be well suited, I think, to throwing the clay bullets I've been making.  I had been thinking that the only slings I have that would work are my "Grizzly Beast" and my seatbelt slings.  All the better, if I should end up with Peacefuljeffrey slings that work for that purpose!  Sweet!  Cheesy

Peacefuljeffrey, your 5-strand sling design works fine for ammo ranging from gravel, to tennis ball-sized. I made your sling with (it was either 1/4" or 1/8") cotton cord, and it's my favorite sling.

The only reason I don't carry it with me more often is because it takes more space than my Apache...  Lips Sealed

adsi,

Looks nice!

How is the pouch made? The two color effect is really great.

thanks guys

the finger loop is chain hitched

and the pouch is made like a friendship bracelet

this method of pouch making is very good
you use lots of knots as you  make the pouch and you can independently control the colour of each knot so it works well.

this i think is the thinnest sling ive made, except for maybe a hemp one but i traded it so dont have it to measure.
the cotton version is a scant 4mm thick but this wool one is even smaller at 3mm.  previous jute verisons were 5-6mm. in comparison my standard 3 strand flat braids are 8-12mm.  my first slings before i knew what i was doing were 20mm wide.. what a waste of cordage.  Tongue

i tried to get a video of shooting a waterbottle but didnt get any good hits yet. but this one here grazed the top. ...

was using smaller rocks hoping theyd penetrate better and hit the archery target by mistake.
i use several layers of 1/2" hard insulation foam, ive hit it many times before but this was the first time had a rock stick into it.

Hello
Two slings  I made a few days ago:
This one is made out of Jutetwin. The braiding is "four-strand-round" and the pouch is made like in the tuturial of T.J.Potter.
...
Here it is the same apart from the pouch, which is a simple woven one.
...
Bye Axel

Axel, that Tut sling is beautiful! I really like the little woven tab at the end of the release cord, thats a great idea. How did you get the pink in the middle of the pouch?

Hello
Thanks
It took me about one or two hours.I just knotted the "pink" (red) on the brown one and wove it through. So you just have to replace the brown twine by the red one where you want.

what type of braid did you use? and how did you place you strands together to make that pattern?
