Thanks Brett. Finding a decent belt was harder than I thought and I'm not going to cut mine up! Decided to try some leather scrap I have laying around, but it's too thin (good for slingshot pouches - not sling pouches). Gave it a go anyway and messed up right away. Cut the leather too short. Still like the belt idea and when I find one in good condition, not too thick and nice and supple I'll give it a try. Also thought the not so secret (but very mysterious) braid might add a little something. Not sure what.

They usually have a heck of a lot. Welcome Bogdi, nice sling... but it looks a little bit to clean, so go out and get some dirt on it! Did you make those glandes?

my new netted sling, i didn't do it right so the netting came out rectangular, but previous knots made so that the sling would not unravel from the pouch later on also made it so that the sling appears right, if not with a thin pouch.

THIS THING IS STRONG, i didn't expect it to be to good, because it was so light and flimsy feeling, but when i flung a rock at my fence with figure eight with only a regular amount of force, it split the fence piece! (my parents are ok with it because the fence wasn't so important when people visit or when it should be sold)

and here's my rockman sling made of jute and a 4 strand round. i made it intentionally loose just so that the sling would be thick, and because the retention cord was braided a while ago, actually my first sling with the braid, so that it was rickety. i didn't finish it, so later on i went back and re did it. luckily it has no stretch

also here are my lead sinkers. for those who can't see too well, the 3 on the left are 1.5 ounces, the perfect weight, the 2 in the middle are 2 ounces, a bit heavy, and the last one is 3/4 of an ounce heavy. i used to have another one but it disappeared after a single throw off to a place no less then 20 feet away Angry

the good thing was that these 6 glands along with the missing one only cost a dollar
