This is my second sling made with leather from a worn-out belt. I wanted something a little bit fancy and was inspired from paleoarts sling.
The cords is hemp, 4-strand round braid, flat braided finger loop.
And for trying something new, instead of a trigger knot or bone shard( Wink

), I simply flat-braided the general retention grip area.

Posts: 1993 oceanside, CA Gender:	Re: Pictures of Slings and Slinging Reply #858 - Jul 9^th, 2009 at 6:07pm nice one, timann! slinger, thanks. yeah, it think it does. it's a smooth slip out of my fingers. also, it aids in the retrieval of the release cord after the shot enabling a quick reload. the only draw back is that it whips around the body after the shot and can sting a little.

my new rock man sling, it's made from dark blue yarn. i call this one innovations, because

a) it's my first sling with a wrist loop

b) it's my first sling with tapering ( i got a good one because i used 12 strands, and was able to release 7)

c) it's my first sling that has a name Grin

d) and lastly this is my first sling that switches braids in the middle of the cord

( paleoarts, this is also the one i was thinking about trading)

Walther, I cut the leather belt pieces 2,5 cm X 17 cm. That should be 1 " X somewhat less than 7 ". The lenght makes the pieces cross over smootly, and allows tennisballs to fit nicely.
Golfballs and small stones work too, but they do look a bit small and forlorn in the pouch Cheesy

xxxkid123, that was a nice sling, it is a good thing to be a bit innovative when making a sling

Paleoarts, I must admit I think your bone piece is a little sceary. The way I sling, I would be afraid it would hit an eye or a tooth, according to Murphys law Wink
