Do you have a plan for the cords?  Braid, or just loop a single strand through?

Just as that straw (or whatever it is) is going through the loops at the end of the pouch, just run your cords through.  If it's a single strand, loop it through and tie a knot.  Or if you want a braid, you can pass multiple cords through and start the braid.

Admittedly there could certainly be a fancier method, but that's outside my knowledge.
