Here is a braid I’ve been working on ready for the summer break here in Australia.

That looks SWEEEET! What kind of knots did you use on the finger padding and pouch?

Thanks Im using cobra knots for the padding.

Looks like an insane amount of work

And,

I seriously like your aerodynamic egg ..... is it 3d printed ?

😁👍

Takes about 3-4 hours to make, a lot of high tension braiding and splicing, my hands are pretty sore after making these. But these slings come out very dense, and last a very long time.
The foil projectile is a hand shaped river rock, I'll probably never shoot that one  Cheesy

Its the same concept as your "NK" nearly knoless sling, except that instead of joining 2 dyneema lines at the pouch, its one single line going through itself entirely. The inner core of the release side is tapered, and the cobra weaves are for finger comfort, pouch grip/resistance, and locks the brummel splices in place. Every splice and knot is made under high tension. Then dipped and soaked in beeswax.

My daughter who is 10 asked me to make her a sling. There were some stipulations.
1. It had to be pink.
2. It had to be good enough for a superhero to use (Slingirl)
3. It had to have a pouch.

The letter M is her initial.

See attached
Happy holidays to all
Cheers
Al

Thanks; All the braid patterns are out of Rod Owen And Terry Flynn’s book “Andean Sling Braids”.
Great book.

Hi Al Paca.  I resized your images.  If you can, please shrink down images so they fit on the screen before attaching them.  We have Windows and Mac instructions here: https://slinging.org/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1676672557.  If you're working from a smartphone or other device, a quick Google search on resizing images will usually get you to the right think pretty quick.

Really nice looking slings by the way! Thumbs Up

My latest behemoth. I love how it looks, but it's so heavy I don't know if I'll ever actually use it: 113g!

Oh yeah I definitely tried it! It's stiff on the perpendicular axis and unrolls very smoothly, but really tough to make adjustments because of the weight. But maybe I'll use it for a while for some weight training to be able to throw at lightning speed when I go back to a reasonable weight Grin

Also...I definitely have a problem. But fortunately I've run out of material and my fingers are all covered in blisters so I think I have no choice but to be done for a while.

The show House of David came out today on Amazon. I got the opportunity to make the slings for the show.

And I just wanted to share my new favorite sling.

This is my version of the sling. For the show, they added wool to the retention and release cords. But mine is just Hemp. I like the feel, and I only have bright wool spools around. So that felt weird to add.

That is a good looking sling.

I am sure you are aware both your slings and the film have been the subject of quite a bit of discussion.

Congratulations, I hope you have a HUGE stock in to keep up with the demand and I look forward to you sharing the complaints about their innaccuracy or other attributed failings !!

😁😁👍👍👍
