The fishing line sling has been slow going. But I just finished joining the pouch, and I thought I'd post some pictures and try to get some feedback on the split and join before I get too much farther.

I am sure more expert braiders than I will have constructive comments to offer but as far as I can see they are both neat joins and I can't see anything to be improved.

My outlook on life is Aristotalean; on seeing an Acorn I see a potential oak tree rather than Plato's view that it is a failed copy.

Yes, that's the knee.
No, I didn't add anything. I started with the threads at similar length, and I'm going until I run out.

Very smooth and clean look.

Once, Toivo and Eino were out hunting, and before setting out, Toivo told Eino to fire three shots in the air if he got lost, and Toivo would find him. Soon enough, Eino got lost, aimed his weapon up and prayed: "God, please let Toivo see my arrows!"

Very nice! I'm always impressed by Egyptian-style slings. What material is it made of?

Okay! Some backstory. I grew up on a farm, and I went down and visited family for the past few days. And something they have a lot of on farms is *drumroll* baling twine! So I shredded some down and made this! 18" retention cord, 5.5"-ish pouch, so about 20-21". It worked great for river rocks! Was throwing them over the river into the bushes on the other side.
When I left I asked if I could have some twine to bring home, so I have a 15 gallon bag of twine sitting on my garage. I told my Mom, "I'd rather run out of interest in the hobby than run out of material."

Nice sling! What material is the twine made from?
