Okay, took a break from trying to make a netted sling, like Rhonan has shown us a couple times, to play with the UHMWPE cord I got. I took one page out of Mersa's book and another out of Acroballistics to make a seatbelt sling and a splice sling (though I think I should've watched ABs video again).

Fine looking sling.
Let us know how it performs.

That looks sweet! Looks like it should be in a bag of tactical gear.

I like the colors. Very "class".

The material is not very colorfast. As I was working with it, my fingers were turning black, and the Paracord guts (the whipping) was also collecting some color.
The few throws I've taken with the split pouch, either I made the pouch too big, or the material is really slick, but tennis balls tend to slip through.
The seatbelt pouch was intentionally small. I wanted to make a gravel thrower, so stuffing a tennis ball in the pouch is a tight fit. It throws really nice, but I find it awkward to spin. Almost better suited to a Byzantine or figure-8.

Not sure if this is the right topic, but didn't feel like this was wordt starting a new topic for.
Made an easy, portable target.
9mm OSB, 50cm diameter. Put something round in the center, and made a "bullseye" using some spraypaint.
4 holes with some and paracord strings, and here we go.
Less than 15 minutes to make, easy to take with jou and put on a fence.
Might make a foldable version next time.

Today I learned Dyneema and UHMWPE are the same thing. Dyneema is just a brand name.

Finally decided to take a crack at a seatbelt sling! The seatbelt material ended up being significantly more sparkly than I was expecting, but looks fun nonetheless. Performing well so far!

Nice webbing! Where'd you find it? Amazon?

Thanks! Yep, amazon and they have a ton of colors:

The only caveat I'd give is that it's a little less flexible than your usual seatbelt material so the whipping is a little more fiddly to get properly tight and even all around. But even with that it's working great so far a couple hundred throws in! Now that I know it's in good functional shape, I need to clean up all the loose tails.

I need to put the finishing touches on this. It's an okay first attempt. Braided fishing line (Dacron (a polyester)), is slippery. I think I should've done a twist instead of flat/round. I need to try again.

Trying a twist five strand with the same stuff from the last post. Each strand of the finger loop braid is made of five "threads" of the fishing line, so the retention cord strands are ten "threads." Please excuse my dirty fingers, the dye from the fishing line is rubbing off as I twist, and it's getting everywhere.
This is my first time trying this kind of braid, so advise and criticism is welcome.

Have just kept updating the introductory post but I guess this is a better place to post photos (?). Here's my latest sling; JUST finished (well some MINOR things left but pretty much).
First time getting the cobra knot down (on one finger loop only and without core to not make it too thick; maybe possible to use both in the future if doing it tighter), made an extra knot at the top for no reason other than aesthetic because the Matthew Walker looks like spiral same as the braid.
Pouch transition in/out getting better. Single string through the middle only as this is intended for tennis balls only; figured a cross wasn't needed). A fair bit longer than most of the slings made thus far but feels really good and will probably make a good crack once I learn how to make a whip cracker to attach. Pro with this design is I can easily take it on/off and wrap it around the wrist wearing it as an armband without it looking "off" (couldn't do that with the adjustable finger loops as they were too thick) and can easily use it on one/two finger without folding a "flat" fingerloop to become too thick.
Now about to put a cobra knot on the purple/black I made before this one (posted that in the introduction post already so no need to double-post).
Any tips on what to improve from photos alone (?) greatly appreciated (still need to learn the pouch transition better). I see people here having some sort of "wrap-around" near the ends of their slings. What is this material/knot called please?

Nice. Have been thinking of something along these lines but with cardboard and tape. This is a step up from that for sure.
Foldable... So with hinges? If you want an idea (?) there are pretty strong neodymium magnets that are "counter-sunk" (English?) that you could maybe put on the back of it. Would mean it's just click and hang easily on a metal fence like that (?).
