Lewis, you're becoming unhinged!! lol

That one looks amazing. I like the transitions on the release cord.

It's not as tedious as it looks. Either that, or I've become more patient. It's the first time trying the high strand count that Jaegoor does. It didn't come out as thick as I wanted, so I'll have to try again.
Yes it transitions to a 4-strand round braid, which makes it rotate better, amongst other reasons.

It takes a lot of experience for this. Looks very successful. Really good job.

Hi everyone, first time poster and pretty new to slinging overall. Got into it a few months ago, lately I've been trying my hand at crafting some of my own. This aint the first one I've made, but it is the first one that's got that special sauce. It just feels good to throw with, and I'm miles more accurate with it than some of the others. It's a fairly run of the mill polyprop strap and paracord job, coming in at just over 24". I guess the only somewhat unique additions are that I bind the straps together with constrictor knots to help them hold more of a cupped shape, and I favor a ball end retention toggle (taken from a bungee strap) over a finger loop.

Got some more unorthodox designs I'm itching to try out, so hopefully more pics will be forthcoming!

Welcome!

The sling design might be "run of the mill".  But it's also one of general designs that could be called simple elegance.  Basic, but very effective!

Do you hold the retention ball between the middle and ring finger?

Can't wait to see your other design ideas! Thumbs Up

Nice!  Once you've had a chance to use it a bit, you need to bump this topic back to the top with your thoughts, https://slinging.org/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1698337545.  Or is this something different with the tire vs. the tube?

Once, Toivo and Eino were out hunting, and before setting out, Toivo told Eino to fire three shots in the air if he got lost, and Toivo would find him. Soon enough, Eino got lost, aimed his weapon up and prayed: "God, please let Toivo see my arrows!"

Yup! Hold it in my palm with the cord between the middle and ring fingers. The retention cord terminates in a simple overhand knot that sits on a small rounded washer which then sits inside the ball. This also adds the little quirk/feature that the entire retention cord has the ability to spin freely on its own axis. I like to think this leads to a cleaner release, but in truth I'm not sure if it actually makes a difference there. Don't  seem to hurt at any rate. It does make it a bit easier to align the pouch right when first picking up the sling, unlike finger loops where sometimes you put them on backwards and have to take em off and flip em, with this you can just spin the whole thing til it lines up properly.

I find the ball toggle works best on short to medium length slings and with a Byzantine-esque throw, which is what I normally do. I add a little backwards windup first--basically pendulum swinging the sling out behind me, before transitioning into a single overhead rotation that releases in a high sidearm. I'm much more accurate doing this the toggle ball than with anything else, but this throw doesn't work as well for me with longer slings. When using a longer sling (say 30 inches or more) I usually do more of a Ballearic type throw with a few pre-rotations, and for that I like a classic single finger loop.

Here's a much better pic of the toggle ball sling, along with an absolutely gorgeous 35" paracord beauty I just got from David The Shepherd!
