The biconical ball has the surface of a tennis ball. It weighs a little more than a tennis ball. I found these balls in Dog Toys. I don't like tennis balls. A reason . They break quickly. These balls have some kind of valve. You can practice shooting with biconical projectiles. They fly very well. .Unfortunately they are for; Balearic competitions not allowed. I think it's absolutely perfect for a balearic sling. I can make a video about it.

Thanks for the information. I agree that they are perfect for slinging. A video would be welcome. Now I just need to find where I can get some myself!

Yea I do feel this sentiment… I’ve already broken a couple of T balls. Mine often get lodged in the chain link fences  Grin

They look like they’d fly well. It makes me wonder, being a dog toy what the reason for the shape is? I suppose probably strength now I think about it!

Thanks Jaegoor, I tool will try to locate some for myself  Smiley

I'll have to keep my eye out for some of those biconical tennis balls Smiley

Cotton Rockman with round braided cords.
It's not in this picture, as I took it before I did it, but I spliced in some nylon paracord guts for the tassel.

Once, Toivo and Eino were out hunting, and before setting out, Toivo told Eino to fire three shots in the air if he got lost, and Toivo would find him. Soon enough, Eino got lost, aimed his weapon up and prayed: "God, please let Toivo see my arrows!"

Nice ones! I like the rockman design, nice and simple to make and works well.

The bottom one looks great too though, did you use a tutorial for that one?

I started to make it with a sheepshank sling design (http://slinging.org/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1338672380), but I strayed quite a bit from the tutorial. A regular sheepshank sling would probably come out much neater.

Looks good, and fairly simple to follow. I'll have to give it a go sometime.

My first raw-fibre Balearic sling. Braided in 5 with jute I extracted from string, with a waxed pouch and ending in New Zealand Cabbage Palm fibre. Thanks to Irongoober for the Cabbage Palm! And thanks to Archaic Arms for the tutorial, and Serbaz for providing me with a real Balearic sling!

Thanks Eino! I'm about to head off oversees and I'm taking that one as a gift. So I probably won't be around for a while on the forum. Good luck with sling making all!
