It's a great weather-proof material and it's very light. I prefer natural materials though (for the main part of the sling) as they have more grip, and are traditional.

I got some synthetic sisal and made a sling with it. Natural materials definitely make nicer slings. I tested it with a tennis ball and it worked well. It'll be nice for a 'beater' sling!
