Just curious, have you ever tried a Y or T pouch sling ? the stones you throw seem like an excellent candidate for a sling that puts less spin on the projectile. Whenever I have such stones and used a conventional sling it felt terrible, the thicker and fatter the sling the worse it got. it even screws with my long term practice, because of the erratic release screwing with the release timing in my head (because while my release could have been perfect, the path the stone took was random, so I thought I released wrong, and I adjust my release automatically, while it wasn't the release timing that needed adjustment) , this creates this terrible feedback loop dilemma. Solution is either to use consistent ammo or really reduce internal friction (and target distance, but which at 20 m, seems pretty minimal already) and or heavier ammo. Consistent ammo, while amazing, and really makes a sling shine, is hard to get, so I prefer the solution of reducing internal friction by T pouch, and heavier rocks, at least 150g. If one doesn't desire a change in pouch design, I'd recommend at least 150g rocks, possibly slimmer cords wich also reduce spin, and more of a lob throw.
