I'm in awe of the guys and gals who do the zillion strand round and tapered braids and finely woven pouches!

I may not be able to do fancy multi-strand braids, but I'm a wiz at chain sennit braids.  Here's a two-strip Aussie Pouch with cords made from a single strand of nearly 2mm thick linen butcher's twine.  The loops at the pouch and end are 'sewn' into the main cord with the twine-end stitched 10 times through main cord.   The "retention loop" here is extra large because it's really the "release loop" of a staff sling; the other cord is firmly attached to the staff end with double clove hitches

A regular round braid around a core

I finished this sling yesterday as an improvement over the above. It's thinner and made it as tight as I could.
and I dropped the wide part in the middle of the pouch.
The only thing that worries me is the reliability of the cracker. I love the feel of such a smooth release end
but I need a solution for this when working with hemp as it is not as easily replaceable as free fibre sisal sling. I know how quick hard use can wear it out.  I think I need to imitate Jeagoors solution

Hello, Jaegoor,
How does she behave ?
Are the belts rigid ?
Maybe it's not important but it's a question I ask myself.

Pair of single strand continuous woven 45in slings. Uses 18ft paracord to make one. Center knot is woven to create curvature and hold ammo better. Was getting frustrated with smaller ammo not holding, so this was the solution.

Yesterday was like Christmas.  The sling I ordered from J came in, and also a couple I got in a trade with Duckhands.  I got a pouch from Duck as well.  I'm looking forward to giving them all a test.  Cheesy

Good to see it arrived.
I am selling another sling, this one.
I am lowering the price on these because I can make them from
Twine so it goes a lot quicker.
