Thanks for the advice! I was planning to use an eight strand Mathew walker knot with the cord running through it with a stopper knot at the end. I've done that before on a previous sling. But I'm going to try your solution. I will probably not do it exactly as you do because the loops will be taking a lot of loading. They might back out the braid especially if using dyneema as I did with that sling. Make loops - that's smart. Thanks IronG.

I keep seeing double retention loops and though I'd give it a go. I lost my first try, but this one came out really well. I think it's my new default sling. the thin cords make it more pocket-friendly, too.

I made the loops too big. The setup on the retention cord side is close to what I tried to describe in my last post. I think the colors are most excellent on this Thanksgiving day.

Over-waxing can do that, as well as not having a suitable cracker to dissipate the release cord energy.
Applied in the right context, it makes a very good target sling that lasts forever.
