New modern take on an old design.

27”
Made from spliced 1/4” vectrus
Double cinching fingerloop
Brumel splice deep bury
Plastic inserts inside the pouch

Quite possibly the worlds strongest sling with a break strain of 3.3 ton.

This design might become commercially available in the future given that my test group likes the design.

With practice I could probably make 3-4 a hour minus the whipping.

Well it’s about 30$ Australian worth of materials for a sling this size.
I’ll probably give out the first round for free to some users. I owe morphy, nooc, Irongoober, kick, vet, crazybrave, j, slingbasket , and channing all a sling and I have another 4 or so people I’d like to test it out. So I need to cough up a few hundred bucks just to get some feedback.
Given the design works and doesn’t change I think I’ll retail them in the 50-100$ range depending on how much time and materials I need to do them.

They might be built to order . It’s only in the early stage of development but it’s a somewhat marketable design given the simplicity of build.

Well it’s not like my usual slings , and I find it still on the heavier side of my comfort zone.
I’m still experimenting, but so far I think it functions similar to a traditional style sling.
It’s not ultra high performance like the slings I’m used to. I think there’s somethings with the design that I like and things I don’t. I will make prototype 2 in the next weeks . But concept will be very much same just fine tuning slice positions and tapers. Maybe try a different material, and some other ideas.
I’m not sure if I likethe double fingerloop so I might change that for next one . Also might try some “leather “ on the pouch and release.

Still my top slings are super efficient designs with thinner lighter designs. But a thicker heavier sling has a nice feeling I just don’t see improvement in accuracy or distance, so basically I’m still working on it

Here's my prototype of a captive release Y-noodle. One piece of paracord, just twisted and knotted. The captive release was an afterthought. I meant to cut off the excess to just make a Y-noodle, but figured I'd conserve the paracord and try captive release for the first time. It worked better than I thought it would. Really well, in fact. It releases about 30 degrees earlier than I'm used to, but I can adapt. After I get the hang of making them with 220 paracord, I'll try with 3-strand jute twine. I think I'll like the feel better, and the knots will hold tighter.

As soon as I figure out how I made it (I was just noodling at the time), and refine my method, I'll post a tutorial.
