Waxed hemp balearic, 60g @22".

I love the feel of this one, I can see why Jaegoor uses waxed hemp balearics for his target shooting.

It came out fairly heavy with the wax adding ~15g (my leather coverings usually add around 10g), but it's pretty manageable on a short sling. It feels bomb proof also and must be pretty waterproof after all that wax.

I have not used hemp for slings, but ill need to try that too

I have had very good experience with wax. for then I'm using string wax. the stones have a good grip. i apply it before shooting. there is no damage. it's better than leather.

Hi,

With all these braided slings I couldn't wait so had to start slinging somehow as I figure how to braid.

So here are my humble but pretty good slings that have been working great for me. The one on top was my prototype that worked exceedingly well. It's made out of 6 strips of duct tape. 3 of the strips are coated with Hockey Tape to eliminate slipperiness, and give texture like leather.

I liked this design enough that I made the leather equivalent pictured below it. They both sling equally well and I find myself switching back and forth. From tennis balls to random rocks I have had good luck with them. The hockey tape sling takes less than 20 minutes to make and is cheap. Also if the surface wears down just refresh with new hockey tape!
