yes, in my opinion it's ideal for bad rocks
huh. not what I was expecting. I was imagining putting them in sort of behind the two cords, which in retrospect makes no sense.
the Y-sling, at least mine, dumps whatever I've loaded into the pouch almost immediately through the split, as I let go of the release trigger. No matter the orientation of the cords, it's equal in all directions. So it never fouls as a result of cord interference.
It's the sling reduced to its most basic form. This one doesn't provide real noteworthy spin action on the projectile. So it's really a simple form of slinging. It gives a very direct throw. The powerstroke is optimal. No need to release early to compensate for any release friction really
It'll sling just about anything just like one can load anything in a smoothbore gun barrel and shoot it. But don't expect a bullet like spin. More like a tumble-spin.
I am restarting to think that it is beneficial for short distance target throwing, lets say 30 meters, maybe 50 meters, and that's where it would really shine in my opinion and actually feels like cheating compared to a regular sling. Only on longer distances I really notice the lack of spiral spin on the projectile, cuts on the range and accuracy of flight path. Due to the lack of stabilizing spin I don't recommend light rocks with this sling. They are more easily beaten off course by the wind. Go 150 g or heavier.
