@Thearos Some muscle strain is good. That means it'll grow back stronger. When I throw hard overhand with heavy projectiles for a few hours I feel strain  in my triceps, but not in any joints or elbow luckily. It can take a few days to heal. But it means next time I can throw harder.

Standard ''paracord'' model, new EDC
Made from 1 long strand of ''cheap'' 4mm cordage, but it has less stretch than the real thing. I like this cheaper cord more than real paracord for slings. This cord is quite firm.
Length - arm to mid chest. Large netted pouch can cradle and sling baseball sized projectiles comfortably

looks very cool

Thanks MikeG

Here is an experimental design, probably been done before, this style of aussie pouch is supposed to be cupped and wide on retention, while being narrow and flat on release.

I'm worried about the joint, though-- not sure it's good when that hurts.

I use an empty plastic ballpoint pen cartridge, with the end cap taken off and shaved with a knife to be completely smooth.. I use this as a splicing needle. I push the cord for the net in the back of the cartridge, and push the whole thing through the middle of the cord that's being spliced

Tested the last 3 slings I posted here for about an hour today with good stones. My new green EDC performed best for me. Throws the furthest, most powerful casts (logically as it is the longest) of all three, it has the least stretch and is the most silent due to the tab. I am growing to like the silence.

I recently found one of my oldest PJ slings in our attic. I made this when I was around 14 years old.
It's still in good condition. 30'' long with a slightly cupped cradle that is quite a bit stiffer than the cords.
Holds and slings  stones up to 150 grams.  It only had a small release knot so I added a few hemp strands for more
grip and a whip effect. It would be an ideal sling for lead, steel balls or smooth stones as the extra bit of stiffness in the pouch gives it some more spin.

That's the same type of rope as my first sling and my bolas! It's surprisingly great stuff that. It's almost indestructible.

2 strands were twisted and the pouch is just weaved.
the cracker can be replaced and is very loud.
When folded in half it is as long as my arm and i shoot ~140 meters with it.
