Wow.
I tried my hand at a middle ridgeline hemp sling yesterday but I failed. Not exactly a cortalloid but my own interpetration of how I would make it using my own fabrication methods. I first twisted a single 3 mm 3 ply hemp cord the length of my sling, with loop and release end. So a single cord without pouch yet. That went well and I like the suppleness of the hemp compared to twisted sisal which as a lot more memory.
So my idea was to use thin a seperate 1 mm hemp cord and then splice this in the middle to form a weft pattern, and then and tightly weave a diamond pouch in the middle.
But after about finishing half the weft I decided to drop the project because the side of the pouch was sagging too much
compared to the the middle strand, and no way that would ever hold a rock. I do prefer my pouch to cup in the middle.
I guess what I did wrong was not weaving the outside ridge of the pouch tightly enough, so it didn't sag. But then
all I am seeing what I would get is a 3 strand split pouch in function but with solid weft between the strands to eliminate the splits and make it solid.

initial impressions:
works well with sphere balls, similar to y sling
good stability
not much else
Since spheres also work well with the regular sling, the regular sling provides more oppertunities

Wow, Albion slinger, this looks amazing against the backdrop of beautiful stones! Apparently you waxed it

By the way, the leather doesn’t need to be that far up the release cord. The first few inches are what get damaged.
My slings have a habit of getting damaged along the entire length of the release cord
This is retention cord

In this sling almost pristine retaining cord and the damaged release cord one is noticeably higher than the reinforcement skin, it is not as clearly visible in photographs as in life

Albion I am impressed. Looks like Cordaillot. 😂 How did you do it? I like to shoot stones like the one in your picture with it. In fact, they can also be found in the original. And is it a slingshot for you? 🔝

If there is such damage, the brake is too small

Nice, I love balearic slings, is it 40" folded or unfolded? That is a tight looking braid which is good.
And yesterday I made another attempt at a rockman sling, this one looks much better than the first one I made. Pics are with 100g clay glandes.

Can you explain this further, Jaegoor? I don't completely understand it. What I do understand is that a tassle/fluffy cracker slows down the release cord as it causes drag. But how does this prevent the stone from further contact with the belly? Shouldn't a slowed down release cord just cause more contact?

No. The sonic tongue / cracker slows down the line. This will make the letter easier to open. I'm looking for a picture that illustrates this

In the picture you can see what I mean. The brake bends the line backwards. This means that the stone is released more quickly. There is little unrolling.
