Here's some food for thought: it's not the rock that rolls out of the release cord, it is the release cord that rolls out from under the rock. It's the unwinding action of the release cord below it that gives it the spin, or in other words, the pulling away of the release cord or pouch away from under / side of the rock as you follow through
Some more for thinking, does a sling really have a ''pouch'' ? It's more like one halve of the sling is retention cord and the other halve is release cord, with the division between the two happening exactly in the middle of the cord where the stone sits, with whatever construction is required in the middle for the cord to hold on to the stone. It's just semantics I guess

I've gotta work on my round braid. I hope it'll look as good as yours!

Round braided,
16x6 pouch
63 centimeters lenght sling
Jute four-strand thread
jute in wax
it is felt that the jute covered with wax is much more resistant to tearing and abrasion!
according to preliminary sensations one of the best I've done
Is hemp and jute the same? Jute is made from a variety of the Cannabis plant, is there a difference?

Excellent job Scorpion V
Hemp and Jute are not the same. Generally Hemp is considered a stronger fibre. But I've also seen high quality jute and bad quality hemp.

Looks like you are improving with every sling Mike
Here's a firm but small diameter sling from gutted paracord, braided as tight I could. Slings best with 125-150 g rocks in terms of twist and release resistance with a tight grip. I find this split pouch to be too unsecure without a tight grip and would personally recommend 'more pouch' if you like a wider grip, but that's personal

Thanks.
Your sling looks good, but as you said it is not secure.
It looks like it is very stiff ( do you prefer stiff slings). For me it seems like stiff slings are not as secure as softer slings (That is what I have seen in my experiments).

It depends. I am still experimenting between different types of braids, round, flat, twisted, and different levels of pliability.
