slangdeg, thats what i thought this style of sling was called. there is a tutorial here that showes how to make one and thats what the author called it........ by the way, how do you get your pouches like that? they look more stable. I really like this style of sling, I fing that i shoot straighter with it that with more robust pouches. tho with a larger pouch one can put a wider veriaty of ammo in them.

UPDATE: too hard to figure out how to do it, I got it once but it was way too big. Help?

thats funny you can tell theyre sturdy from a picture. yea they are really stiff.  i think its mostly just how tight you weave it.  bunching each split into just 2 strands probly helps some cause it gets fatter.  but i make sure to keep the weaves tightly compacted by pushing them together every 4 or 5 weaves.

its neat how you can make a thick stiffer than leather pouch from a thin soft string like cotton.

Et Cetera,

I like your favorite leather sling.

Looks like an accurate sling, if that makes sense.

Here is my braided sling #130 in the middle.  I needed a simple braided sling like this as an extra spare( Cheesy) for some similar slings.  But this one has on oversice finger loop whipped to sice.

On top is braided sling "131.  Propably my best Rockman type, it will be hard for me to improve much on this without getting better materials of more even thickness.

The bottom sling has a shaped leather pouch, made from a small leather scrap.  It is perfectly siced for golf balls.
The cords is thin fakish paracord.  The sling works wery fine, I brought this sling to a golf course sunday morning, where I found plenty of golf balls wich I used happily.

A close-up of the Rockman.  This has a 4-strand braid, and as Rockman did , the split halves is wowen as if they are 3-strand.

Nice work Timann, round braids are great for slings.
I made a couple myself.

Well, Rockman, you got a couple of nice slings there, too Smiley.  They are great with those patterns.
