Nice twining over sticks @kick!, have you tried alternating the twists for each pass?

TheHMGSlingingRep, looks like your sling collection is coming along nicely!

Czechslinger1.0, that's a good looking Balearic! Looks very short too, what's it's length? I think the shortest I have is 15".

The three wishes granted by the Genie:
1: A sling that will behave exactly the same in all weather.
2: This sling must also be half the weight of a Luis Balearic.
3: Finally, this sling must be very rigid and responsive.
The genie also threw in durability, grip, and some springiness just for the hell of it, even though "it was a bastard to braid" said he...

Gorgeous.  Is that a 7 strand braid? Are you going to share your genie's secret material? or keeping it that to yourself so you can best us in the online challenge?

I second IG. What material? The color is beautiful. And as always beautifully made.

Cheers. Yes, seven strands has become my standard. The material is polypropylene yarn, which while plaiting, constantly tries to unravel itself. It also doesn't absorb water so trying to braid it with clammy hands is awful (working with it outside alleviates this problem).

Thanks! It is such an honor to get a praise from someone who makes such a gorgeous slings. It is 18" which is now my preferred lenght for accuracy.

Wow that thing it absolutely beautiful! I love blue on slings, that is why most of my slings have now at least blue cracker. If a genie showed up and offered me 3 wishes that sling would be one of them. I had lots of similar polypropylene yarn somewhere in my house, maybe if I find enouogh it I will try to make similar one.

Thanks! I haven't but that might be interesting to try. That blue sling is a work of art! How long did it take?
