@All- Thanks everyone!
@Jauke- that jute seems to weave up nicely. Have you tried it yet? Looks great!
it works as good as I expect from a natural fibre sling, and it has a nice connection to nature. It looks so stereotypically like a sling, something like it is what I would expect people in the past to have used and it feels good to use something similar.
I really like this design and twisted cords instead of braided cords. It adds a really great adjustable fingerloop (once you have this you don't want to go back), a very
easy and even transition from cords to pouch on both sides, allowing even and equal length pouch strands for solid weave, something I always had a harder time with using a braid. It's also just a whole lot less frustrating to work with because you only got 2 bundles of cords you're twisting around each other instead of 3 or more bundles hanging loose that you're braiding. This is also a sling design I feel I could recreate and want to recreate with fibre harvested myself, given time.
One thing I really have not regretted is buying one of Luis' balearic slings. It's one of my most precious slings and gives me a good platform and a sling from somebody else to compare my own to. If my own slings sling as good or better I am satisfied.
